Réka Lőrincz
“Resisting one-dimensional categorisation.”
profile
Reka Lorincz works across contemporary jewellery design, conceptual sculpture, moving image and text-based art, as well as energetic healing. Her work examines universal themes within contemporary human existence through a personal lens, such as productivity, agency, potentiality, embodiment and non-linear systems of knowledge, drawing on collective consciousness and the interconnection of mind,
body and spirit. Resisting one-dimensional categorisation, she sees the different pillars of her practice as parts of the same, fluid web of concerns and interpretations, manifested and transmitted through different media. These in turn feed into one another and inform the artist's own life and practice.

Keep on Going Necklace
My aim is to enjoy life, find new ways for that, and as a healer, put this happiness into my objects and let them spread it to anybody who chooses this vibe.
I often use antique jewellery as a starting point, leading me further along the line of time. I want to build bridges between different generations. I believe we have a choice and that we can carry on what is useful to us, we can transform it in a way that suits us best. Most of all, it's the connection to the power of the ancestors that for me this subject is about.

Me necklace
I am an artist. The deeper meaning behind my work is to make the lifting and healing potential visible and use them as opportunities to live life joyfully. What drives me is the knowing that experience has shown that this is possible. That it works.
I think it's interesting to observe who we are, who we can be, to find ways to explore the possibilities, how we can become who we want to become. What is the diversity that lurks within us, what is the way that allows so many colours to come out of us.

We build community through Instagram, in-person gatherings, and the power of quantum manifestations. Along with my objects, this community carries on the energy that I have started.
Sourcing, hoarding, buying is for survival. Its roots go back to the prehistoric times of mankind or even older.
In the old days, when mammoths roamed the frozen Eurasian wastes, it was up to women to gather. They left their children in the care of their grandmothers, took their baskets and set off for the four corners of the world. They searched for berries, seeds, roots, snail shells and coloured stones, essential for making jewellery. They spent almost the whole day doing this.
The object of the gathering may have changed, but the essence remained the same.
